Path Of Time

Join us on Duskwood!

Some of our newer members and even some of our older members have asked if we have a website--some place to connect with others and information. This is a test site that we can try out... So I put it to you guys: How do we want to do this?

I found this site set-up through a friend and I'm hoping that we will be able to adapt it to our needs. I'm not good with HTML (as in I don't know what any of it means outside of bold, italics, and underline) but we are supposedly able to customize this page to within an inch of its life if someone knows how to do it.

As the leaders/officers review and/or join the site (if we decide to keep it) more people will have administrative access to the site. All leaders/officers will be given administrative access to the site so that they can modify the main page, approve memberships, or ban members from accessing the site.

There is a group for each class. When I first started the guild, Adjerra and Betheny were talking about having different officers take charge of different instances or areas so that when lowbies had questions or needed help in navigating something they could go to someone and receive help. I was hoping to apply the same principle to each of the classes. Since we have some very experienced players in many of the classes, it would make sense to have a place for each class to go to. These groups for classes could include discussions on good professions for that class, suggested quests for armor rewards, or even just how they pwn all other classes. This way, too, as we have new members come in to the guild there will be a tangible point for them to go to and be able to reference back people without having to have those who know repeatedly answer the same question. In this way, groups for different classes may help with retention of new members.

There will be a group for each profession. Since some of the guildies we have seen in the past either did not know what professions were or what to do with the professions they have, it might be good to have guided areas of professions. Like the classes, these groups could cover topics such as: where to train, where to get supplies, what can be done with the products, what classes would benefit, what levels are necessary for training, and requests from the guild bank for available supplies. This may help keep keep down the volume of supplies in the guild bank as well as help provide a trail for what items are being moved where and to what purpose. This will help punish cheaters of the system as well as reward those who were previously afraid to ask for assistance.

There is an events section on the front page that should help us get together for guild events easier. For instance, we have had trouble getting five Level 70s on at a time to do Arena and by entering in an event members can review the event and RSVP if they are able to come. If it is apparent that not enough members will be able to accomodate the event before the alotted time, then the event can be cancelled and no obligation perceived by those who would have otherwise set time aside for it. It may also be a good way for lowbies to request help with quests or instances by letting others know what time they will be on to work on something and what they need help with. In this way, we can keep track of beggars and punish the cheaters of the system.

Each member will have access to a "My Page" section that will be unique for each member. It will show their latest activity (i.e., what they have replied to or posted), their guild information (who their characters are), comments from guild members, friends in the guild, and (should they so choose) blog information. The comments part is primarily what I was looking at because it will allow us to keep track of guildies as they progress with the guild. If a guildie has been given a warning or put on probation, these can be marked in their pages via the comments box. The only downside will be that other people will be able to see these comments. Comments cannot be deleted by the users of the site. They are infinite and permanent. We can use them to say that a guildie was given a run-through, that a request was fulfilled, or that they have been issued a warning. If a certain guildie receives complaints they can be posted in their comments section. It will be much easier to implement the "Three Strikes" policy lol.
